The most important action in growing your business is to develop new leads, get your name in front of potential customers. Create and market your “Brand” to realise name recognition. Look after your existing customers, offer a value proposition to increase satisfaction and cultivate referrals.
Your most valuable asset is your database, to collect and expand your network and database is one of the most important tasks you need to spend time on.
“Without promotion, something terrible happens: NOTHING!” P.T. Barnum
Many people believe that the basic issue in marketing your business or yourself is convincing prospects that you have a better product or service. If you have a small market share and you have to battle with larger better financed competitors then your marketing strategy is faulty in the first place. The basic understanding in marketing your business or services is creating a category you can be first in. It is much easier to get into the mind of prospects to be first than it is to be better.
When people become successful, they tend to become less objective. They seem to become unstoppable and often substitute their own judgement for what the market wants. When your brand becomes successful the leadership often assumes that the name is the primary reason for the brands success, so the next step to expand the business is to look for another product or service they can stick the name on. It is usually the opposite, and the name did not make the brand famous. The brand became well known because of the marketing and the value is attached to it.
Did you know that successful people are good at 2 critical tasks?
• They manage their time
• They prioritise their tasks.
And, in sport or business, they also have a Mentor/Executive coach to ensure they keep on track.
A mentor is a positive role model. Good mentors are respected by their clients. She/He can learn a lot from their mentor simply by watching how their mentor behaves in any particular situation. Good mentors will also look out for experiences, or even create situations in which their mentees can become involved to learn new things, for example, providing a look behind the scenes or a glimpse at how other people live or do things.
